Icarus’ Death!

L.O: Can I Retell the story of Icarus?

Daedalus and Icarus were trapped in the maze.

Icarus and Daedalus were feeding the birds seeds and picked their feathers .

Icarus flew off and said he can fly higher than the sun.

Daedalus told him not to fly too close to the sun because the wax will melt and he will fall into the sea.

Icarus didn’t listen and he fell into the sea and drowned.

As they nervously leapt from the tower ledge, they plummeted down towards the glistening beige sand. Then suddenly, the feathered wings unfurled. They shot up! Soon enough Icarus and Daedalus were drifting in the afternoon breeze. At first Icarus was petrified, but in a few minutes, he was gliding through the air like a graceful, swift dove. But then, Icarus started to get over confident. Daedalus had warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, but Icarus was very big headed. So he flew as high as he could, and said to himself; “I can fly higher than Apollo.” Apollo had heard this, and was very angry. So he told the blazing sun to shoot its blinding sun rays at Icarus.

Icarus had begun to feel drips of hot liquid onto his leg. It was wax. The bright sun rays had made the flaky wax melt and let loose of the feathered wings. He was frozen with horror. Icarus was plunging down towards the deep churning sea, when he crashed into the azure, navy water.

As they leapt from the immense tower ledge, their feathered, powerful wings spread from their blistering backs. The cold breeze was finally out of their faces and they were soaring like eagles in the azure sky. Icarus soon got the hang of flying; he was twisting and turning all over the place. Dadils warned Icarus not to fly to high otherwise the throbbing wax would melt but icarus just kept flying and flying he soon claimed he has better than his father and then he even claimed he was better than the sun God Apollo. At that very second Apollo a woke he was stunned to hear such arrogant words come out of Icuarus’ mouth he melted the wax on Icuarus’ back. Icuarus plummeted down like a lightning bolt as he passed his father dadilis was in disbelieve. But nothing Dadilis did made a difference Icuarus could see rolling, rough sea and he knew it was going to be the end of his life. In just one splash it was over Icuarus had died.

They leapt from the tower, skimmed the walls and up they went. They glided above the cold black sea. Their wings gently fluttering in the crisp autumn air. When Icarus mastered his wings he gracefully soared up. Higher and higher he went closer and closer to the sun he came. Dadalus called” Icarus stop climbing” but Icarus ignored him. Over beautiful mountainsides they flew caching stunning views of golden beaches like ribbons leading to the azure horizon. Yet Icarus was still climbing. Then to seal his fate Icarus said “I can fly even higher than Apollo but Apollo heard this. He was not pleased with Icarus. He ordered the sun to shine its rays on Icarus. No sooner than Apollo said this then the sun broke throw the silvery clouds to shine its gleaming rays on Icarus. Icarus immediately knew he was in for trouble. The was on his back heated up in the sun, blistering his back and started to spread and drip off him, the wings loosened and the feathers slowly but surely fluttered off.

Icarus careered out of control, the black sea racing up to meet him. Icarus let out a last frustrated scream then he hit the water. A crimson trickle of blood left his crumpled body drifting away trough the black water. Icaruses body then sank beneath the cold waves.

Dadalus was worried; he could not see Icarus anywhere. Not near the silvery clouds, not above the mountains. Then in the sea below Dadalus spotted a crimson streak in the water and the limp lifeless body of Icarus beneath, just visible in the sea below
