The Death Of Me

It first happened when I was ending my mountain climbing, the transparent snow floating down from the sky onto my ice-cold body, my aching bones heaving and trying to get back to civilization. A single tear rolls down my cheek, while my body collapses to the ground. That’s when the earthquake started.

Dizziness hits my brain and tells me I’m going to pass out. The impact is like a rough stone just got thrown straight to my skull. The I realize it’s not just me.

The ground starts to form cracks around me, while towering trees collapse, causing the cracks to widen and cause a ravine. I leap to my feet, breathing every breath as if it’s my last. Once again my muscles give up and I start to see  the ground getting closer and closer to me. First I feel nothing, then i feel a burst of agony surge through my body as a sharp branch impales my leg. Pain surges through my body while more tears stream down my face.

Then the pain starts to fade, and my vision gets blurry and weak. I don’t  know if this is the end, but all I know is that the pain in my leg could be the death of me.

Mysterious Figure

Mysterious Figure
I was happily enjoying my cup of rose red wine, when I heard an ear-piercing CRASH! I went to go check when I realized that a tall, dark figure was circling my wooden hut. I was petrified. It was wearing a raven black cloak, like it had been covered in soot.

It started storming towards me. It was like a fierce, untamed lion stalking its prey. As it got closer and closer to me, it took off its cloak to reveal a furious, vicious soldier. I was able to catch a glimpse of his scarred face. It was so scratched you could almost see the dirty bones, separating each side of his face.

He was dressed as a soldier; his helmet was dripping with blood. His plume was stained fiery red. His sword was as silver as a shiny medal. His eyes were pierced and unflinching and he was glaring at me like I was an animal, ready to be killed. “How dare you leave the fight, you coward!”He shouted with fury.#

A different soldier sprinted towards him and was about to slice him in two bits, when the figure grabbed him by the neck tightly. The soldiers face began to turn as red as fire. He finally let go, gasping for air. He scrambled to his feet then ran back into the chaotic battle. I wanted to run away, but I couldn’t. I was frozen in place, left to be terrified to death by the horrific, scary figure.

Which Greek deity has arrived to deliver their warning?

Icarus’ Flight

L.O: Can I retell the ending of a story using noun phrases and accurate verb choice?

As they nervously leapt from the tower ledge, they plummeted down towards the glistening beige sand. Then suddenly, the feathered wings unfurled. They shot up! Soon enough Icarus and Daedalus were drifting in the afternoon breeze. At first Icarus was petrified, but in a few minutes, he was gliding through the air like a graceful, swift dove. But then, Icarus started to get over confident. Daedalus had warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, but Icarus was very big headed. So he flew as high as he could, and said to himself; “I can fly higher than Apollo.” Apollo had heard this, and was very angry. So he told the blazing sun to shoot its blinding sun rays at Icarus.

Icarus had begun to feel drips of hot liquid onto his leg. It was wax. The bright sun rays had made the flaky wax melt and let loose of the feathered wings. He was frozen with horror. Icarus was plunging down towards the deep churning sea, when he crashed into the azure, navy water.
