any moons ago, in a place that is now buried by time, was a gentle stream, that would lead you to a forgotten land with a mighty king named king Hermes.
Hermes was the god of thieves so he had many slaves. One of his slaves name was Ellie and she had battered, old, rotten clothes, unlike Hermes he had a cloke softer than silk and it smelt like butterfly milk. No one really knew what that meant. Ellie had cloths as brown and as worn as mud.
One early fine morning when the sun reflected down onto the earth and the birds sang. Ellie was still asleep, so when Hermes walked into the dusty room he was furious he pulled the warn blanket of Ellie. Ellie shot up like a rocket taking of, Hermes shouted with fury “What do you want? To get fired Get on your feet now!” Then strait away Hermes stomped of leaving a trail of muddy footprints from his garding boots.
When the king wasn’t in sight Ellie packed her bag. Well that was pretty easy all she had was a toothbrush and an old photo of her mum Asme. She had a little looked at it and then gently packed it away. So there Ellie was on her journey in the world looking for somewhere to stay because there was no where she really has called home.
On her long journey she noticed a spark Ellie tried to ignore it but she couldn’t help but to find out what it was. When she found out what it was she was stunned it was a golden, glowing tree.
Strait away she found an axe sitting on the floor not too far from the group of golden, shimmering trees. Ellie picked up the axe and started to chop down the golden tree.
Years went past and she built a fabulous sparkling kingdom. More years past and her towers grew and travellers past.
With all of the golden leafs on the trees Ellie made herself a magnithecent cloke and a place to finally call home.
One early morning when Ellie woke up and said to herself “I’m proud………proud of me and proud of my magnificent kingdom.”
Later that fine day Ellie spotted a strange figure and with surprise it was Hermes he came to Ellies tower and shouted up with a large breath “Stop Ellie! Look hoe you have become. Your pride is growing your heart is overflowing with Hubris” “Your refer to me as master now you piece of junk go back to the scrap yard were you belong.” Replied Ellie.”Oh yeah……..Get me more golden trees” Ellie added. “Ellie you’re not who you think you are…. you’re a Greek goddess your name is Athena.” “Stop you know you’re making fun of me just because you’re a Greek god doesn’t mean that you have to rub it in.” “Ok that was made up,” replied Ares. Ellie shouted from the top of the tower, “I don’t care, just get me more golden trees, Oh yeah, I am better than the finest Kings and Queens, I am even better than Hippocrates. Now, be gone, this is my land. All you are to me is dirt.” “The gods won’t be happy with you Ellie.” Hermes finished the confosasion with a pretty upsetting ending.
Ellie came down from her glistening marble thrown and picked up her axe and decided to go outside and chop down more golden trees.
Another hardworking week went by, more and more golden trees died.
Suddenly, Ellie heard a mysterious voice. It sounded like a poisonous snake. She soon realised that it wasn’t a king cobra but it was Ares. “Why are you acting like this? You were once a loving lady and now you are………. well I don’t quite know what you are. Ellie, you are better than this. You used to worship the gods. You used to worship me!”Ares confessed. “You give me no choice but to give you your final warning.
Ellie sat back in her magnificent throne and waited until Ares disappeared in the distance like a silent ghost. “TheΘεός (Gods) won’t come, will they?” thought Ellie to herself. She got up and stared out of the window and all she could see was gold reflecting onto the stream that lead to her unknown kingdom. There were no more golden trees. All that remained was a golden river, golden towers and well, golden everything. Unfortunately this was still not enough for Ellie. She wanted more! “Am I greedy or am I a queen? Am I just a servant, who relies on just herself?” thought Ellie to herself.
On the next fine morning when Ellie woke up, she noticed that a murder of crows flew by squarking and leaving behind a trail of dirty feathers.
“Get out of here you filthy crows; you’re spreading your diseases everywhere. Don’t come in here” ordered Ellie. “Squawk” cried the grey crows. “Get off me, let me go. Do you know I am your queen?” Ellie cried.
Suddenly the crows dropped her into the dark river that was bubbling with sticky oil. Ellie fell into the dark deep pit and her last memory was her glorious golden kingdom crumbling.
She was never…. heard from ….again!
