I was standing in the middle of a room crammed with artifacts in every corner.
How did I get here?
Where was here?
My torch flickered out as I trudged through the water logged ruin. I ducked under a collapsed pillar into what appeared to be a town. All the buildings were nearly identical to each other and in the centre of this town was a statue that towered over me like an enraged dragon.
It was made of lapis lazuli and the finest opals for eyes. I clambered on to the statue to see where I was.
Hi Ava,
Good poem! I like the rhetorical questions in the middle of it. It is very powerful in that kind of poem.
