L.O: Can I Retell the story of Icarus?
Daedalus and Icarus were trapped in the maze.
Icarus and Daedalus were feeding the birds seeds and picked their feathers .
Icarus flew off and said he can fly higher than the sun.
Daedalus told him not to fly too close to the sun because the wax will melt and he will fall into the sea.
Icarus didn’t listen and he fell into the sea and drowned.
I like the verb “trapped” because it tells you about how they were put in the maze.

I really liked the word’ flew’because it shows that flew is a verb.
I like the detail about feeding the birds – it makes the tale more realistic. We are given quick flashes of the action and the reader fills in the details with their imagination. This brings the reader into the tale, almost as if they, too, are writing.
If I closed my eyes and you read your story to me I would be able to build a very clear picture of what was happening. You have retold the story very effectively. Well done!
