This week we have been learning about how to add the suffixes -ing and -ed to different words.
We have been learning when (and when not) to double a consonant at the end of a word when we add -ing and -ed
We have been using these tips to help us remember
With words that end in a vowel and consonant (e.g. begin)
Here are some examples:
Unzip > unzipping
begin > beginning
label > labelled
permit > permitting
Forget > Forgetting
Hear some examples on words that do not double the consonant:
happen > happening, happened
stand > standing
jump > jumping, jumped
Limit > limiting, limited
edit > editing, edited
