Oak Class returned from the Easter holidays ready and raring to go. We have immersed ourselves in all things farming to get ready for our BIG school trip to Godstone.
We designed our own small world farms, sorted and counted all the animals.
Various Oak class farmers have been in charge of driving our tractor around the classroom farm delivering livestock to barns and collecting hay bails.
Our class cow known as ‘ Spotty’ or sometimes ‘ Smudge’ has been producing litres and litres of milk all week!
Everybody made a list of things they would need to take to the farm.
By the time we were on our way to Godstone, everyone was au fait with life and work on a farm and excited to put their farm knowledge to the test.
Our trip was great fun, we packed lots in and met some unexpected members of Godstone farm including Bruce the albino hedghog and Georgina the tortoise. Farmer Helena took us on a tractor ride, introduced us to the goats, cows and sheep in the big barn, gave us all the opportunity to handle some of the farms smaller members, told us all about the farm ducks , took us on a mini- beast hunt and introduced us to some piglets who had a race to their lunch!

As always the rest of our week was filled with tonnes of reading, writing and number work.
All in all it was a busy return to school after the Easter holiday – the trials of farm life are now water off a ducks back to Oak Class…!
By the end of the week, we all needed a good sleep!
