Icarus slowly stepped up onto the window ledge, looked down and took a deep breath “This is it.” he said. As he fell he looked back on his life. “Farewell world.” he thought. But then, he soared through the skies and his father flew on behind him.
He had mastered flying, or so he thought, he was so confident in himself and flied higher “I could go higher than the gods themselves!” Icarus claimed. Deadelus his father, warned him not to say that and about the scorch ball sun and told him to come down.
And so he did, but every so often when Deadelus wasn’t looking he went higher and higher but then. His wax slowly started to melted in the heat of the sun. But he continued to fly higher, until his crispy bacon wings fell apart one by one and then Deadelus saw. “Icarus I warned you about the sun!” Icarus looked at him confused. “Your wax!” At that time Icarus could feel the wax drip off his back. Soon his wings were in the deep dark Aegean sea, where Icarus’ pride was soon to be.
Icarus fell and realised what he had done, he let his pride get the better of him. As he was falling he flapped his arms around like they were wings. It did him no good. “Ah! Help me!” He cried. Deadelus tried but he couldn’t help him. He regretted what he had done before.
And he plummeted to his watery grave, never to be seen again…
I like where it says ‘he slowly walked onto the ledge’ I like this because it shows he was afraid to step on the high ledge and fly.
‘He mastered flying, or so he thought’ I like this because he thought he had mastered flying but it shows that maybe he didn’t.

I really like how you wrote ‘farewell world’ because it shows me just how scared he is of dying before he had a chance to enjoy his life. It also shows me that this one jump is making him feel upset since if he dies, he will never know if his father is alright.
