Suddenly inky black clouds erupt,

breaking the peace and quiet of the rainforest.

The torrential downpour hammers on the branches of the weak trees.

The orchestra of the rain forest sings an ear piercing screech.

But the storm goes on.

Leaves droop,

heavy with rain,

growling lightning strikes the battered trees.

Plants of the rainforest,

sink to the floor defeated

and the animals scurry away into the depths,

of the rainforest.

Clouds clear,

and the ongoing battle comes to an end.

The scorching sun burns on the shattered landscape.

Trees fall, weak.

The animals step out of hiding and soak in,

the much needed warmth.

Exotic birds let out into a joyful song

and the plants once again start their battle for the sun.

The storm is over.
