Pond Dippers

On Friday we enjoyed our visit to the London Wetland Centre. We saw the otters splashing around and enjoyed our pond dipping workshop where we learnt how to identify different pond creatures.

We hope you all enjoyed the weekend (especially the tennis and cricket),

A Dip for Mr Grinling

This week we have written our set of instructions to teach Mr Grinling how to make the dip tzatziki. We then followed our set of instructions and made the dip in class. We enjoyed eating it!

In maths we have been learning about money. We have learnt to identify and explain the value of each coin. We have also investigated the different ways you can make a total. Below is a link to a game the children can play to help consolidate their learning.

Next week we will be learning how to read and record time on an analogue clock.

On Tuesday we watched the School Council’s ‘Off By Heart’ poetry competition. Caitie represented our class and read her poem beautifully for the audience. Well done to the Year Two children who were the overall winners.

This week we have enjoyed learning about Ben’s Rubik’s cube and joke book, Eliza’s monkey called Yankee, Caroline’s bird nest, Lenny’s dinosaur puppet and colouring book, Theo’s paper frog and Marcus’s tooth and colouring pencils. Next week it is the turn of the jellyfish table (Lucy, Jan, Lily, Matilda, Elizabeth and Eddie) for Show and Tell.

Next Friday we will be visiting the Wetland’s Centre. The children will wear their school uniforms as usual, but will need to wear comfortable shoes.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,
