This week we have started our new core text ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak.
We generated adjectives to describe the appearance and characteristics of the Wild Things and used plasticine to create our own character for the story. Here are our terrifying Wild Things:
In maths we have been learning how to compare number statements using the statements < > =.
In geography we have started our new topic ‘Marvellous Maps’. We looked at an aerial map of our classroom, and Max’s bedroom. We had a go at making an aerial map of our own bedroom.
Next Thursday we will be celebrating World Book Day. The children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. They can also bring in a copy of the book to share with the class. If the children choose to come into school dressed as a character, we are asking them to provide a £1.00 donation to go towards the charity Book Aid. We look forward to seeing all of the different story characters.
