Save Our Seas

This week read the book ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’ and learnt about plastic pollution in our oceans.

Did you know that scientists predict there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish by 2050 if we don’t do something soon? In Willow Class we felt that this is something we need to change.

We designed persuasive posters to explain to people what is happening and how people can help. Next week we will be writing a letter to Mr Quinn informing him about how we can be a plastic smart school.

In maths we have been learning how to measure capacity.

Attached is the link to the Spelling Shed for the children to be able to revise  some of the sounds we have been revising in class: https://play.edshed.co/login

We hope you have a restful weekend,

Extra, Extra, Read All About It!

Welcome back to the Summer Term. We hope you all had a restful holiday and enjoyed the sunny Easter weekend.

This week, we started our new core text ‘The Snail and the Whale’.

We visited the Prayer Garden to read the book together and share our thoughts on the story.

Afterwards, we got to meet some snails thanks to Joe in Year 6 who showed us his pets.

We then wrote newspaper reports describing what happened when the whale got stuck on the beach. The children worked hard to include a snappy headline and the key information.

We hope you have a restful weekend,

Miss Luetchford and Mrs Sharon 🙂
