What a busy two weeks we’ve had in Year One.
We hope you all enjoyed our F.S.U and KS1 production of ‘How Charlie Brown Discovered Christmas’. The children have worked very hard to learn all of the songs and it was wonderful to see them perform their lines with such clarity and confidence.
A huge thank you to Mr Peck who organised a very exciting P.E lesson for Years 1 and 2. The children were taught a variety of sporting skills and activities by the Year 5 Sports Leaders.
In English this week we have read the story ‘The Way Back Home’ by Oliver Jeffers.
The children wrote shape poems describing the rocket used in the story. They also wrote a list poem describing the setting and boy’s emotions when he found himself stuck on the moon!
On Monday we will be enjoying our KS1 Christmas Party. The children are invited to bring in a set of party clothes that they can change into after lunch.
Last week we enjoyed learning about Toby’s picture, Eddie’s model of a race track, George’s Ducktales, Nicky’s ring, Elizabeth’s toy rabbit and Ranga’s toy leopard. This week we have enjoyed learning about Ramir’s toy Santa, Lewis’s pictures, Valeri’s Rubix Cube and toy bird, Eliza’s toy dog, Guy’s toy stocking and Caroline’s dog keyring.
Please note there is no Show and Tell next week.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
The Year One Team
