Life in Year 3

This week’s blog is written by Ella Burton, Bella Carey and Lily Varma.

“In English we have been writing letters to our grandparents telling them about toys because we have been reading a book about toys called ‘Major Glad and Major Dizzy. I wrote about my dolls called Mia, Emma and Lily (Ella).

In maths we have been learning about multiplication and division.  3 x 4 = 12 so 12 divided by 4 = 3.

In science we have been learning about magnetic forces. This week we investigated the strength of different magnets.

In music we have been learning about the beat, rhythm and pulse of different songs. We have been learning an African dance which we happily perform for our parents this weekend.

In history we have been learning about the Bronze and Iron Age. We have looked at causes and consequences such as when people began farming they no longer needed to rely on hunting.

The Year 3 sign language club is up and running. Thank you to Miss Dyer for helping us organise this club. We’ve started to learn the letters in the alphabet.”
