This week we read the poem ‘The Sound Collector’ by Roger McGough . 
We looked carefully at the poem and identified the ‘secret strings’ that held the poem together:
- Includes sound words
- The sound describes the object
- Each new description is written on a new line
- Each stanza is four lines long
- The second and fourth line rhyme
We then wrote our own version of the poem where we described the sounds that The Grinch might steal at Christmas time.

In maths we have been reviewing our learning and completing our termly assessments.
In science we have learnt about camouflage and how this helps animals to hide from predators or help them to catch their prey.
Next Wednesday afternoon we will be having our KS1 Christmas party. The children are invited to bring party clothes in a named bag that they can change into for the afternoon. Outside the classroom is a sign-up sheet to donate any food or party drinks, which will be greatly appreciated. Please ensure that all food is nut free.
