A Drizzly Week

This week we have smiled during the drizzly weather to complete another week of learning.

In English we have have continued learning about plastic pollution and have generated ideas on how to reduce our plastic waste. We have planned a formal letter to our local MP to tell him our ideas. We will be writing the letter next week.

In maths we have continued learning about fractions. We have learnt how to find a 1/2 or 1/4 of an amount.

In science we have learnt about the diet of different animals, identifying: carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

In D.T we have been learning about a balanced diet and where different foods come from.

During the week the children completed their end of year phonics quiz. They all worked incredibly hard and the results of the quiz will be included in the children’s end of year reports.

This week we have enjoyed learning about Valeri’s Horrid Henry’s joke book and Toby’s homemade book. Next week it is the turn of the crab table for Show and Tell (Gabriel, Issa, Levi, Lewis, George and Guy).

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the Summer Fair.

Have a great weekend,

The Year One Team
