This week we wrote our information pages to share our fascinating facts about the moon. These are now on display in our classroom.  Next week we will be learning about poetry and reading the book ‘The Way Back Home’ by Oliver Jeffers.

In maths we have been learning to compare numbers using the mathematical symbols < > =. We have also been learning about ordinal numbers. Next week we will be learning how to use a number line.

This week  we went to St Matthew’s Church where Mother Helen and Father Alistair reenacted a baptism to show the children what happens during the service.

Thank you to the  parents who helped us walk to the church and Mother Helen and Father Alistair for inviting us to the church; it was a great way to end our unit on Christian baptism. Next week will start our new unit ‘Who is the Saint of our School?

Congratulations to Duncan and Clemmie who have been appointed as the Faith Champions for our class. Mr Quinn said that they both wrote fantastic letters detailing their hopes for the year.

Next week your child will be able to take home their books from their time in Reception class. Please can your child bring in a named bag on Thursday 14th October to use to carry the books.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Miss Luetchford and Mrs Sharon  🙂
